“Eindelijk lente, trekt ze grijs en zwart aan”, zul je wellicht denken. Op de tweede lentedag (zo voelde het althans) kreeg ik zin mijn Monki midi jurk uit de kast te halen. Voor een teenslippertje was het helaas nog te fris, daarom boots en een leren jasje. My new dark side, want ook zonder kleur en prints kun je natuurlijk prima voorjaar vieren.

Op 21 januari is het Martin Luther King day in Amerika, wat betekende dat vandaag bijna iedereen in Los Angeles een dagje vrij was. Na een ochtendje ploeteren, besloot ik in de middag mijn laptop dan ook maar dicht te klappen om te genieten van het mooie weer (het is hier al 28 graden). Ik ging naar The Grove, een tof winkelgebied in West-Hollywood, voor een ijsje in de zon en een klein shoprondje. Geen gedoe, geen make-up, gewoon een skinny jeans, een T-shirt en een grote zonnebril. Er gingen overigens wel wat statement pieces mee naar huis dus volgende keer een meer uitgesproken look!

A tornado may have hit the city within the fashion bubble the party never stops. For these pics I posed outside the Alexander Wang show and fashion friend Maddie made the lovely shots of me and my girlfriends outside Lincoln center. Tomorrow we’ll pay a visit to Williamsburg. Can’t wait.

With a temperature of around 30 degrees it was a hot and sticky first day in New York today, yet that didn’t stop me from wearing some new leather pieces. I visited the shows at Lincoln center sporting this look and changed into a slightly more airy dress later on. The turquoise shoes were a bit of a mismatch with the rest of my look, though they did add a nice touch of color to my black, white and silver ensemble. I’m visiting San Francisco for the first time and it’s even nicer than I’d expected. Although it’s much more chilly than I thought it would be I had a blast in this Californian city. I paid a visit to the world famous Alcatraz prison, cycled through the cities enormous park & over the Golden Gate Bridge and I enjoyed a bay cruise, which allowed me to take some cool sunset images. These images are from my first day in San Francisco, taken on Pier 39. Since it’s the coldest city I’m visiting during my holiday I decided to rock this fall look (There might not be another chance for it). Mixing prints in San Francisco goes a little something like this…

I recently bought this lilac COS dress and was looking for the perfect opportunity to wear it. The second day of the Amsterdam fashion Week seemed the perfect occasion to take it out of the closet. I matched it with some turquoise accessories and decided to go for another eye-catching hairstyle. This time my hair was braided in three different braids (fishtail, twirl and a French braid) and my hairdresser even added a touch of pink. I got lots of compliments on the hairdo. Too bad it was just for one day…

Yesterday was the first day of the Amsterdam Fashion Week. You’ve probably already seen some of the images I took, here’s what I wore to the opening night. I opted for a sequined pencil skirt (my ultimate favorite fashion piece) and a metallic top, combined with some gold jewelry.

And remember I was looking for some hairstyle inspiration? This braided hairdo (created by Salon B, Amsterdam) was actually inspired by picture number three of that hairstyle post.

Just spotted my look for the Amsterdam Fashion Week opening night on ELLE.nl.

The opening night is always the busiest night of the week. Everyone dresses up extra special and look forward to a week full of Dutch fashion. Besides editors, bloggers and friends of the brand there are also always a few Dutch celebs, who are crazy about fashion and make their appearance in the most eye-catching designs. As I might have mentioned before I am a big fan of the peplum trend. It adds a feminine touch to every look and matches very well with my pencil skirt obsession. Brave fashionista’s have already been wearing this trend for the last couple of months and it’s becoming more popular every day. For fall H&M is interpreting the peplum in many different ways. Like this Burgundy leather top, which I wore over the weekend. I can see myself wearing it with jeans or a maxi skirt too. Do you like it? And how would you wear it?

Since it´s finally summer in Holland I now have tons of clothing options (so many pieces of my summer wardrobe are still unworn). This week I decided to go with my DIY pencil skirt. I matched it with my turquoise / mint tee to make the lace detail stand out even more. In lack of the perfect pair of brown shoes (on my wishlist right now) I wore my good old black wedges.

A women already commented on how lovely the Burgundy and mint look combined. I´m also a big fan of salmon pink and turquoise. Do you have any favorite shades you like to mix together?
