This afternoon the news came through Anna Piaggi has passed at the age of 81. Apart from her contributions to magazine like Vogue, La Settimana Incom, Epoca, Linea Italiana, Annabella, Panorama, and L’Espresso she will mostly be remembered for her eccentric fashion style. She was often photographed, on the streets of Milan and Paris and front row at all the big fashion shows. She stood out from the crowd with her extraordinary clothing, her colored locks, red cheeks and funky hats. She was an icon to designers like Karl Lagerfeld and Manolo Blahnik, yet she inspired many others. Anna and Iris Apfel (two ladies with definite Advanced Style) even seemed to be the muses of upcoming season´s eccentric trend.
